精英保护只会在盔甲拥有原版 锋利 5 附魔情况下才会出现，精英锋利 1 级的保护效果和原版的锋利附魔一致，这意味着一个同时拥有 锋利 5 和 精英锋利 10 附魔的盔甲在与精英怪物战斗时呈现 锋利 15 的效果，而对其他生物只呈现 锋利 5 的效果。
